Is Secular Music OK?
My mother taught us the scripture, "Everything lawful isn't expedient." This is a paraphrase of I Corinthians 10:23. Watch the video over to the left and read the article below for some useful information and guidelines: http://www.answers2prayer.org/bible_questions/Answers/music/secular_music.html
Language
"For we aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord’s sight but also in the sight of man." (II Corinthians 8:21) "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." (Proverbs 18:21) Even swear or profane word acronyms is unacceptable because it gives the appearance of inappropriateness. (I Thessalonians 5:22 "Abstain from every form of evil.) Instead, we should "let the words of our mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer (Psalm 19:14), https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2019%3A14&version=KJV
Ephesians 4:29; 5:4 "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths…Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking."
1 Corinthians 8:9 "But take
care that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak."
II Corintians 6:17 "Therefore hgo out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you,"

Psalm 100
100 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Philipians 4:4-9
4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
The Lord's Prayer: Matthew 6:9-13
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.11 Give us this day our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
